There’s a lot of chatter in gig app communities about how gig work is getting worse. But here’s the truth: you’re supposed to use these platforms as side hustles, not full-time gigs.

For example, I get $50 DoorDash bonuses in my region from time to time for doing just five orders by next Thursday. You take advantage of that! The same goes for every app offering these kinds of specials.

But here’s the catch — don’t be lazy and rely on just one app. Those of you trying to make one gig app a full-time job are messing it up for the rest of us who take the time to turn gig work into a business. If you can’t handle it, go back to a 9-to-5. This work isn’t here for you to coast by and complain about.

To be clear, I’m not trying to be cocky or harsh, but it’s frustrating to see the same people complaining about gig work being the ones ruining it. Do your research, stop waiting for someone else to solve your problems, and take advantage of the opportunities out there.

I utilize Gig Work and online money making options like Medium while in Graduate School and trying to start my own business. Some of us don’t want to be chained to the system our entire lives lol.
